Firstly, begin the first earflap where you ended the last round of your hat. Then, refer to the chart and image below for placement of the second earflap.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in 14, turn (14 stitches)

Row 2: Ch 1,sc2tog, sc in 10 sts,sc2tog, turn (12 stitches)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st, turn (12 stitches)

Row 4: Ch 1,sc2tog, sc in 8 sts,sc2tog, turn (10 stitches)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st, turn (10 stitches)

Row 6: Ch 1,sc2tog, sc in 6 sts,sc2tog, turn (8 stitches)

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st, turn (8 stitches)

Row 8: Ch 1,sc2tog, sc in 4 sts,sc2tog, turn (6 stitches)

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each st, turn (6 stitches)

Frog Hat Braids

1. Firstly, cut twelve 30” strands of thegreenyarn.
2. Secondly, holding all of the strands, fold in half and pass the folded loop through the bottom of the ear flap. Use your crochet hook to help.
3. Then, pass the strand ends through the loop and pull tight to form a knot.
4. Lastly, divide the strands into three sections and braid.
5. Finally, repeat steps 1-4 for the 2nd braid

Outer Eye

• green yarn
• make 2

Finally, fasten off leaving a long tail.

Inner Eye

• black & white yarn
• make 2

Start with black yarn

Rnd 1:Magic circle, ch 2, 10 hdc, join (10 stitches)

Switch to white yarn

Rnd 2: Ch 2,hdc incin each st, join (20 stitches)

Finally, fasten off leaving a long tail.

Then, use atapestry needleandgreenyarn to sew the inner and outer eyes together.

Sew the inner and outer eyes together through the second round of stitches. Sew through the back loops only on the inner eye.

Sew the eyes onto the hat.

Cheeks for Frog Hat

• H/5 mm crochet hook
• pink yarn
• make 2

Rnd 1:Magic circle, ch 2, 10 dc, join (10 stitches)

Fasten off and then sew the cheeks onto the hat.
